Bong County are through to the semi finals of the football verson of the on going National County Sports Meet.

They did so with a famous 1-0 win over dispirited Margibi County on Sunday at the ever popular Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex.

Aliue Kamara with the goal for the former champions with just 2 minutes into extra time.

Bong County really out played Margibi and caused them run out of ideas for most part of the match.

They enjoyed the better hand of the dominance but failed to transform them with their strike force looking visionless.

But despite that their Head Coach Cooper Sannan was quite delighted with the win.

“It meant a lot to me and I believe the strategy we disgined really worked”.

“We decided using the four tripe two in the first half and when we found out that it wasn’t working we used the 4-3-3 which gave us the result”.

Coach Sannan also paid tribute to his opponents.

“They were one of the favorites and they really proved that I must admit”.

Well coach Cooper direct opponent Isaac Youngway thinks his side weren’t just decisive on the evening.

“We had goals to score but we missed our chances. In football, what you put in is what you get. My players waren’t focused and I don’t know what really happened”.

Sunday’s last quarterfinal outing saw fans favorites Nimba County soundly edging out Lofa County 2-0.

Anthony kegbleh opened the scoring for them on 21st minute from a wonderful strike before Moses Lasaley sealed things up for them on 85th minute after a crazy error with in the Lofa County defence.

The result means Nimba will now play Bong County in what promises to be a flashing semifinal meeting which comes on later this week.

Margibi County progressed to the semifinals with a 6-3 homeruns victory over Grand Kru County.
