Black Star drawn against Nigerian opponents

                     Liberia's Triple Champs Black Star

Written by Horatio Bobby Willie

Liberian Football Champions Black Star FC has been drawn against a Nigerian opponent in the preliminary round of the African Champions League.

Black Star will travel to Nigerian to face Heartland FC in the first leg preliminary round match on January 31.

The return leg will come on during the weekend of February 13 to 15 in Monrovia.

Black Star is making her debut entry in the MTN CAF Champions League after a stint in the Confederation Cup last year.

Liberia’s other representative in continental club football for next year is Mighty Barrolle.

Mighty Barrolle who finished second in the knockout competition will play an Ivorian opponent in the Confederation Cup.

The Rollers will play SOA of Ivory Coast in the first leg in Monrovia on February 1 while the return will be away on February 15.

Liberian teams have not been able to reach the second round of both competitions since the end of the civil conflict.

LPRC Oilers is the only team to reach the quarter final of a CAF Competition and they did so in 1989
