Lone Star 4 Game Set

 Big Guns Reign Supreme

Rampaging Mighty Barrolle, Sensational LPRC Oilers and Sentimental favorites LISCR were un-sung over the weekend when they secured wins in the race for the LFA top spot.

With no games on Saturday, all focus was on Sunday were the league five venues were on fire. At the Unification Town Sports pitch, the Oilers of LPRC showed their sensational nature when they edged out youthful Gedi & Sons by a solitary goal margin. The highly experienced Oilers with more than twelve internationals, had to wait till the dying ambers of the melee before substitute Johnny Blidi rotated the scoreline to give Oilers the maximum three points.

With the game being a see-saw battle and both goalkeepers making nerve wrecking saves, the former Ghanaian club Accra Hearts of Oak deadly winger Johnny Blidi scored a fantastic volley after a sublime cross from former LISCR winger Jacob Toe to end the match 1-0 in the Oilers interest. The win takes the Oilers to second place on the log, with seven points from three games.

At the Nancy Doe Sports Pitch the same day, LISCR FC drubbed sister club Watanga FC 2-0. Towering conjurer Parick 'Ronaldinho' Wleh got the brace as LISCR moved to top spot on superior goal difference ahead of the Oilers. The Kakata Pitch is regarded as the best playing pitch in the country, as players and coaches claim.

They believe that the turf is well laid out which allows the ball to roll or move quite well. Unlike the ATS, which they believe is directly the opposite. LISCR now has a goal difference of five just three more than the Oilers, and as well have seven points.

A brace from crafty left foot Nuzohn Zidenmaro kulala and one from the burly front runner Weaka Wesseh was enough to see Mighty Barrolle record an emphatic 3-0 victory over early days minnows United Soccer Ambassadors (USA) at the Rollers new home ground, the Gbarnga Sports Stadium.

The win was over shadowed by an accident experienced by the Rollers minutes after the win.
According to reports, the driver of a motor bike ran into the bus and was instantly killed. But, Barrolle's Coach Eric Thompson, alias Christain Cole who was in the front seat of the bus reportedly fell off and was up to late last night on critical list at the Phebe Hospital in Gbarnga, Bong County.

Whatever the case, the red boys are with four points from just two matches, while USA have so far lost two matches, conceding seven goals with no reply.

But, the big guns were not the only ones enjoying the party, as unpredictable Monrovia Breweries and vastly improved Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) had a good evening.

The Beer Boys under the tutelage of Coach Francis Saploh, alias Mourinho, trashed visiting PYC-Jubilee 4-0 at the D-Twe Sports Pitch on Bushrod Island. Two goals in each half from Henry Johnson, Bryant Doe, Arnold Cooper and Marcus MCCauley was all the Breweries needed to forget about their earlier 3-1 defeat sustained at the hand s of Margibi County side Mighty Blue Angels in their first match.
PYC on the other hand could not replicate the form that saw them come from behind to level with Mighty Barrolle 2-2 at the ATS few days earlier.

BYC continue their impressive form in the ongoing campaign as they keep their hundred percent record with a 2-1 nipping of Mighty Blue Angels at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
They are now with six points from two matches after dragging USA in their first match 4-0.
