Big Boost For Barrolle!

       Julius Nah

Liberia Football Association (LFA) elite club Mighty Barrolle has had a big boost to the current campaign with the signing of former Zambian top flight outfit Zesco United midfield warrior Julius Nah, alias Michael Essien.

The resourceful midfielder, who was a member of Mighty Barrolle when the team emerged as champion of the LFA premiership in 2006, returned and formed part of the team that defeated lackluster defending champions Black Star in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County on Sunday, April 19, 2009.

“I feel great back home and to showcase by soccer career with such a great team like Mighty Barrolle after a season in Zambia.

“I returned because Barrolle boss Mr. Garmondeh Karnga told me to return and form part of the team in an attempt to capture the LFA premiership. I have returned with just one mission, to help Barrolle win the LFA premiership, the midfielder who is widely known in Liberian football as Michael Essien due to his power in the middle of the park noted.

Julius was also part of the red and white outfit that participated in the 2007 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League against Ivorian elite outfit Sewe Sports after being eliminated with a 3-2 aggregate.

Barrolle lost 3-1 in Abidjan and won 1-0 in the return leg in Monrovia.

Keen observers believe the combination of Julius Nah, Michael Jaesue, Little Lewis and the new comer Wilfred Greenfield in the middle of the park is a serious predicament to any opposing team.

Barrolle is currently seated at 6th spot on the LFA 18 teams’ LFA premier log with nine points and faces rejuvenated Football Club Azziz Kaka (FCAK) on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.

Julius nah is confident the match would see Barrolle secure the maximum three points.

“We are on course for the championship though it is so soon. The match with FC AK is a challenge for us as we aim to take pole position of the LFA premier league table.

“We want to continue our great form to defeat AK to move closer to the ladder,” the defensive and offensive midfielder averred.

Mighty Barolle is a football (soccer) club from Liberia. The team is one of the founding members of football in Liberia. The club current home Stadium is the Doris Williams Stadium in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.
