Barrolle Wins First Trophy!

Garmondeh Karnga’s Mighty Barrolle has emerged as winner of the Henrietta V. Kandakai Peach and Development Tournament.

 

The red and white outfit achieved the feat at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) on Sunday, March 29, 2009 after a 2-0 thrashing of bitter rival Invincible Eleven (IE).
 

Barrolle newly confirmed Captain Nuzohn Kulala put his side in front just a minute to the close of the first half from the penalty spot after danger man Sam Andrews was brought in the penalty box.
 

Back from recess, it was Barrolle new pathfinder Sam Andrews who made matter worse for the yellow family with a superb finishing from Weika Wisseh brilliant cross to end the match 2-0 in Barrolle’s favor.
 

Barrolle featured some new faces like USA FC duo LFA 2008 top goal scorer Sam Andrews and William Topkah, David Tweh from LISCR FC, Morris Sando from Gardnersville and other talented players who could help Barrolle capture her third premiership title.
 

Barrolle is expected to pay LD$400,000.00 for USA duo Sam and William in an attempt to argument the team for the ongoing LFA 2009 National league.
 

After the match, the Chief Executive Officer (CE)) of the Henrietta V. Kandakai Peach and Development Tournament Mrs. Henrietta V. Kandakai said she was glade to be part of the peace building process of Liberia.
 

She said it was expedient to come back home and help in such process and that sports would be use as a tool to unite Liberians.
 

“I am glade to be in Liberia to help in the peace process of our country. President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf said this was the time every Liberian come home to be part of the peace process and it is no mistake that I am here.
 

“I want to thank God first for making this tournament a success. I want to thank my husband for being there to support me in what ever project I engaged in especially in the name of peace. Many thanks go to the Liberia Football Association (LFA) for allowing us to use the ATS for this tournament and the Ministry of Youth and Sports through its Ministry Hon. Richards for backing us.

We want to say to the winner Mighty Barrolle thanks a million for being the winner of this huge trophy,” Madam Kandakai noted in a rather happier tone.

 

The Henrietta V. Kandakai Peach and Development Tournament will go to Gbarnga, Bong County in two weeks time where another tournament will take place.
 

Proceeds from the tournament according to the organizers go to charity.

At the same time, it can be recollected three weeks ago, the CEO of the Henrietta V. Kandakai Peach and Development Tournament

Mrs. Henrietta V. Kandakai donated a set of beautiful red, white and blue jersey to the Senior National football team of Liberia the Lone Star.
Madam Kandakai said it was her own way of identifying with Lone Star as a Liberian.

 
 

Mr. Navarro Sackie on behave of the MYS, thanked Mrs. Henrietta V. Kandakai foundation for the donation and said the jersey would be used for its intended purpose.
 

Meanwhile, the LFA 2009 National league continued on Sunday, March 29, 2009 in Unification Town (UNT) as LPRC Oilers and Jasmie Rangers settled to a goalless goal.
 

Both sides created some goal scoring chances to outdo each other, but it was Jasmie that mounted more pressure, but thanks to the oil boys’ defense that contained the likes of Gus Totimeh, Freeman Mulbah and Momo Blamo as the game ended in blank.
 

 The league continues this week with more spectacular matches.
