Barrolle Meet IE In
Knockout Semi-finals

By Julu M. Johnson, Jr.
The nation's two arch-rivals will meet each other in the semi final
of the 2006 Knockout Championship.
Mighty Barrolle and Invincible Eleven (IE) advanced on Friday,
September 22, 2006 from the quarter-finals.
Mighty Barrolle relied on post-match penalties to subdue division
one side Barracks Young Controllers (BYC).
The Rollers took the lead in the first half, but their failure to
add more goals led to a second half equalizer for the BYC.
Both sides, during the penalty shootout, positively converted their
first two spot kicks.
But after Mighty Barrolle scored their third and missed the fourth,
BYC went on to miss their third and fourth kicks.
With Barrolle scoring the fifth, the Rollers then brought the
contest to an end via a 4-2 score line.
IE, the Sunshine Yellow Boys, managed to hold Karn United goalless
in full time.
The Yellow Boys went through 6-5 on penalties with each side kicking
ten times.
It appeared to be a goal keeping contest between Sam Doe of Karn
United and IE's Lartee Jackson. Each keeper saved four penalties
each as Karn United placed the other one outside the goal post.
Numerous supporters, officials and fans of IE including Board Member
Joseph Farkollie, Tonia Clay Reeves, Anthony Papie Sumo and Cole
Bangalu, who thronged the ATS, were seen in joyous mood as their
club narrowly escaped elimination from the Knockout Championship.
Mighty Barrolle have already won the Premier League title this
season, while IE was promoted to the top flight after spending one
season in the first division.
The semi-final clash between the two clubs has been scheduled to
take place on Thursday, October 12, 2006. On that same day, Pro
Anchors will face Earth Angels in the female edition of the Knockout
Championship.
