Barrolle In Car Accident

The Liberia Football Association (LFA) premiership produced more fire works over the weekend across the country as teams aim for silver wears at the end of the season.

LIBERIANSOCCER.COM  Reporter Roland M. Mulbah gives the update of the overcrowded LFA premiership. Mighty Barrolle continues her unbeaten run in the campaign with a convincing 3-0 thrashing of United Soccer Ambassador Football Club (USA FC) in Gbarnga City, Bong County on her new home ground.

Fantastic Captain Nuzohn Kulala opened the score line with a brilliant finish from a perfect cross from new signing Sam Andrews as the first half ended in the red and white outfit’s favor.

Back from recess, it was versatile Weaka Wesseh who completed a brace to see the Garmondeh Karnga’s boys secured the maximum three points to move fourth on the LFA premier log.

But the worse news for Barrolle was when the team was involved in a car accident while en-route to Monrovia.

According to reporters from Gbarnga, Barrolle’s bus collapsed with a motor bike ‘pen pen’ driver thus causing his instant death, while the team’s head coach Eric Thompson, alias Christian Cole was unconscious and later taken to the Phebe Hospital.

The reporters also say the coach is responding to treatment and he is doing fine, while there were no other injuries during the accident.

In other matches played, LISCR FC maintained top spot of the LFA premiership table with a 2-0 defeat to Watanga FC in Kakata, Margibi County.

Sublime striker Patrick Wleh, alias Ronaldinho was on target twice in a one way traffic match.
Sensational LPRC Oilers also continued her unbeaten run with a 1-0 defeat to youthful Gedi and Sons at the Unification town sports pitch in lower Margibi County.

Speedy Johnny Gbelee got the lone goal for Gabriel Johns’ guided side as the team now sits second on the table with seven points, but LISCR in pole position due to goal difference.

Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) secured a 2-1 victory over Margibi County based Mighty Blue Angels at the Antoine Tubman Stadium (ATS) to remain 3rd on the table. Andrew Swary, alias Foday and Matthew Dede did the damage to the Angels, while Monrovia Club Breweries grab her first win with a 3-0 thrashing of Jubilee FC.

The league continues Tuesday, April 7, 2009 with youthful Jasmie Rangers battling NPA Anchors at the ATS at 4: PM.
