Barclay still supports Izetta

Written by Anthony A. Stephens

The President of LFA second division outfit Diamond FC says he has no intension of discontinuation his support for LFA Boss Izetta Wesley.

There are reports that Mr. Ebenezer Barclay along with other confidents of Madam Wesley were planning to quit from her campaign team on grounds that they were being sidelined.

But the Diamond FC President told Star Sports, he remains supportive of Madam Wesley in her bid for re-election as president of the local football house.

“I have never, ever, gone away form Madam Wesley” he said.

Mr. Barclay said he believes the LFA Boss has the best platform to move the local football house forward.

Many football followers have blamed the current downfall of the game in the country on the poor leadership skills of Madam Wesley.

But the Diamond FC Boss has a different argument.

He thinks it was a collective work and no one person should be held responsible for the failure of the other person.

“If Crll. Wesley has failed as they have claimed, then let the three of them (Vice President for Administration, and Vice President for Operations and Madam Wesley herself) back off from the process because no one person can take the glory and say this person did this and I did the best” Mr. Barclay asserted.

There are reports that the Diamond FC President was called to a strategic meet by members of the Musa Bility camp in which he openly declared his support for Mr. Bility.

But Mr. Barclay denied ever having a meeting with the LFA Presidential aspirant and members of his campaign team.

He however admitted receiving phone calls from some individuals asking him to join their camp but did not say who they were.

“I have received calls, we have discussed but I remain resolute” he concluded.
