Barrack Young Controller (BYC) has taken pole
position of the ongoing Liberia Football Association (LFA)
premiership table.
The youthful LFA premier outfit achieved the
feat after thrashing Monrovia Club Breweries 1-0 at the Unification
Town (UNT) pitch in Margibi County.
The kids got back to winning way after
suffering two defeats in a roll against heavy weights Mighty
Barrolle and LPRC Oilers.
BYC now has 25 points from 11 matches and
toppled sensational LPRC Oilers with just a point, but the Gabriel
Johns’ guided side stands a chance of going back on top when the
gold and black outfit meets struggling Jubilee FC on Friday, May 15,
2009 at the Nancy Doe pitch in Kakata.
A win for LPRC Oilers will see her back to the
top.
In other matches played, Jasmine Rangers could
not hold on to her 1-0 lead when she settled to a 1-1 draw with UMC
Roots at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.
In the LFA second division, newly promoted
second division outfit Green Pastures edged Georgian FC 3-2 at the
ATS to move on top of the 2nd division table, while
Survivors and Mighty Blue Diamond settled to a 1-1 draw at the Nancy
Doe pitch in Kakata, Margibi County in a first division showpiece.
The league continues Wednesday, May 13, 2009
with more thrilling matches.
At the UNT pitch in Margibi County, Liberia’s
darling football club, Invincible Eleven (IE) will hope to end her
dreary performance to the start of the campaign when the sun shine
yellow boys meet re-energized Adorence FC, while the two bottom of
the table clubs in the form of United Soccer Ambassador Football
Club (USA FC) and Devereux FC will battle in the other premiership
match at Nancy Doe pitch in Kakata.
In the only match at the ATS, it will be an all first division
encounter when Fatu FC engages Karn United.
