BSA Congratulates Pres. Ellen Johnson Sirleaf

Wednesday, 18th January 2006
D. Webster Cassell

The officers and members of the Mighty Barrolle Sports Association (BSA) have extended heartfelt congratulations to the president, Madam Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, Vice President Joseph Boakai and members of the 52nd national legislature for the implementation of a successful inauguration on January 16.

According to a dispatch that was signed by the BSA interim president, Mr. Garmondeh Karnga, the association said it views the coming of Madam Sirleaf leadership as a way forward for the country and at the same time, is hopeful that the development and improvement of national sports programs will be prioritized in her government.

The BSA used the occasion to call on all well-meaning Liberians to rally around Africa and Liberia’s first female president so as to ensure a peaceful and vibrant society for all.

The association recalled that for too long the Liberian people have suffered and so, it is time for every Liberian to get involved in the reconstruction of this war-ravaged country.

At the same time, the BSA has called on the young people of this country to get prepared for the challenges that lie ahead because, as they termed it, if youth programs will improve in this country, the youth themselves must get involved by constructively engaging in issues that relate to their growth.
