It all began with Alice Tiklo picking a bronze medal in the women’s 100 meters final.

Thereafter, on the same day, rising athletic star Korkulo Roberts took the silver medal in the 100 meters men’s final.

Roberts continued with picking medals by finishing third in the 200 meters men’s final event.

The combination of Alice Tiklo, Albertha Williams, Decontee Thompson and Miatta Varmah won for Liberia four silver medals in the 4x100 meters relay women’s final.

The men’s 4x100 meters relay squad carried the bronze through the efforts of Korkulo Roberts, Julius Kamboh, Eric Page and Elsay Johnson.

Liberia was a proud medalist with bronze when Eric Page, Boakai Kawah, Sawola Boakai and Julius Kamboh ended in third place in the 4x400 meters men’s relay final.

Meanwhile, all two boxers that represented Liberia in Abuja also collected medals.

Alfred Michael Slocum returned home with a silver medal in the 64 kilograms category while Sumo Kollie was a bronze medalist in the 60 kilograms event.

Precious Doe, Celestine King, Jartu Flamma and Tus Blackett won third place to take bronze for Liberia in the women’s team events for table tennis below gold medalist Nigeria and Ivory Coast in second place.

Only the volleyball squad of Liberia failed to impress though Otis Nyanneh was the undisputed best player of the tournament.
