As Barrolle Destroys Archrivals: Two
Rising Stars On The Rise
January 4, 2006
What many describe as the glorious days of Premiership side Mighty
Barrolle seem to be coming to the fore as the Rollers look a deadly
side where they brushed aside their bitter rivals Invincible Eleven (I.E)
in a special fund raising tournament.
The red and white achieved this feat through team spirit and
commitment as they look a formidable side in the country. But while
there seem to be joy in the camp of the 2004 Champions after batching
their opponents 3-2 and 4-0 over the weekend, a host of youngsters
have hit the headlines. But, a certain deadly duo in the sublimely
gifted winger Prince Siah and the clinical finisher Alex Nimely are on
doubt the pick in the pack as mighty Barrolle goes on the rampage.
Prince Siah is a deadly winger whose pace, vision, mesmerizing
dribbles and composure in front goal makes him an asset for the
Rollers. The diminutive but sleek footballer, who is artful in the
box, came to prominence when he styled for top club Exodus F.C where
his goals and assists made him an icon to the fans of that ambitious
club.
A couple of seasons later, the kid dynamite landed in the Republic of
Ghana as a means of furthering his career. Not many players from this
part of the world can survive there in Ghana, but the teenager soon
dispelled such notion as he landed at Ghanaian lower league club Bendu
F.C where he scored an avalanche of goals. The explosive kid was his
side lynchpin, as he netted in the goals to take them to a respectable
position on the log.
Prince who is endowed with a gifted right foot, descent finishing a
great work rate and good attitude, then came back home in 2005 as he
joined ranks with one of the country's most historic clubs Mighty
Barrolle. In his debut match on December 31, he turned provider as the
Rollers tumbled the yellow boys 3-2. Player Prince had a hand in all
three goals, and on the next day he created three of his side four
goals as they steam rolled their opponents 4-0 on New Year's Day.
"He is a team player, and his coming to the squad is one of the best
things to happen to us so far. He adapted to the team is such a short
time", noted a member of the Rollers technical crew.
As for his newly found partner Alex Nimley who is widely known in the
local game, as Adebayor, the Togolese National team lynchpin, he is a
young net buster, and is good on the first touch as well as a terror
in the opponent's goal area.
In five games for the Rollers, the attacking Jewel has scored five
goals making him the team's most potent front runner. His mazy run,
deft touches and neat finishing makes him a star for the future. In
the recent fund raising tourney, he rattled the net four times in two
matches as he captivated fans with his goal scoring instinct. The
young lad came to lime light when he featured for newly promoted first
division out fit Barrack Young Controllers (BYC), where he became his
side top scorer as he led them to the first division.
His pace and trickery makes him menacing to any defense. "He is a good
customer in front goal, and you dare give him a chance he will punish
your team", confessed an opponent. The prolific goal scorer is part of
the U-17 National team, and his game has developed greatly. The unique
two some have sight on top flight football overseas, and pundits
believe their current form can enable them make headways when given
the chance.
