As Merger Takes Different Trend, LFA Wants Compromise

February 9, 2005

The eyebrow raising decision of the FA to endorse an illegal merger between Juventus Football Club and United Soccer Ambassador (USA) Football Club, which was fictitiously named Juventus USA, has now taken a different trend with Olympic Football Club said to be making gains.

It can be recalled that a couple of weeks ago, the clubs Juventus and Olympic that participated in last year's LFA Second Division National league and ended at the third position, were infiltrated by Gardnerville based third division side USA.

With the aid of some FA members, the USA side managed to persuade the President of Juventus- Olympic David Paytoe to form USA Juventus.

Furious by the action, the club's Vice President Samba Jalloh took issue with the football house.

And reports gathered said Juventus is disbanded while Olympic football club has taken the second division space.

But in its bid to save face, the local football house is said to be negotiating with Olympic authorities to form a merger with USA.

If Samba Jalloh allows this, the club will be called USA Olympic. Pundits see this as a lackadaisical decision by the football house.

Since of course the false USA Juventus merger has been aborted, why then should some one opt for a USA Juventus merger?

Is this the kind of fairplay being envisaged by people who love the beautiful game? Why can't the FA take punitive measures against USA and Juventus who tried to ostracize fairplay?

Is the FA trying to pacify USA, since it was alleged that a lot of cash was spent by USA in this deal.

Now the big question in many quarters on this issue is: will Samba Jalloh compromise his credibility as a highly committed club president, in allowing a merger with USA?

The Football House seems to be allowing things that have the propensity of bringing the game to disrepute.

And, anyone engaging in such unscrupulous act is certainly against the progress of the global leather.

Olympic certainly has a case and if they will renege their quest in instituting fairplay is what remains to be seen.

What's the fate of the controversial David Paytoe? Will he go on with impunity? The public is busy watching.

If the registered club USA Juventus changes to USA Olympic in less then two weeks, it will be another record in the world football that will be set.

With all these bickering, the big question is whether the LFA President Izetta Wesley is aware of any merger of such nature?

This is because, anything negative or positive obtaining at the FA will have a great reflection on her administration.
