Arrives Without Top Scorer

A 30-man Angola National team delegation jetted onto the
land of the Lone Star, Liberia on Tuesday afternoon without
their talisman finisher cum top scorer, Flavio Da Silva
Amado. The 31 year old short but deadly finisher whose exit
from Egyptian champions club Al-Ahly gave rise to the
signing of Liberian roaring forward Francis Forkay Doe two
years ago, is now plying his trade in the oil-rich nation of
Saudi Arabia with Al-Shabab.
Flavio who scored his country's only goal at the 2006 World
Cup in the pulsating 1-1 draw with Iran, has scored 24 goals
for the Palancas Negras in 60 games and is regarded as one
of Africa's most potent net bursters.
But, the absence of the quiet finisher, Flavio, does not in
any way mean the Palancas Negras under the tutelage of Lito
Vidigal are here with a weak side as there are several high
profile names hoping to pounce on their West African
opponents as both sides have crucial fixtures to Uganda and
Zimbabwe in September in the African Nations Cup qualifiers.
The Angolans have arrived with their 28 year old towering
left winger cum striker Mateus Alberto Contreires Gonvalves,
otherwise known as Manucho. The former Manchester United
player who currently styles for Spanish side Real Valladolid
is fresh from a loan spell with Liberia's Jimmy Dixon's
Manisaspor and will be leading his side onslaught at the SKD
on Wednesday beginning at 7:00 pm.
Also, part of the party is the 32 year old World Cup member
Carlos M. Alonso, alias Kali. The resourceful defender is
expected to be partnered by Andre Venceslau Valentin Macaga
of Kuwaiti club Al-Jahra. But, strikers Arsenio Sebastiao
Cabungula, widely known as Love of local side Primeiro
Agusto and Portuguese Champions FC Porto forward Djalma
Braume Manuel Abel Campos are expected to link with Manucho
to test the red, white and blue outfit that will be relying
on the effectiveness of boy-wonder Sekou Jabateh Oliseh who
jetted in from his base in Russia where he features for CSKA
Moscow, new boy Ansu Toure from Swiss second tier club
Locarno, rarely used Egyptian club Al-Ahly attacker Francis
Doe and a host of other promising but glory seeking players
mainly from Europe.
