Sublime dribbler cum
young live wire Amadaiya Rennie says he is concern about the
lackadaisical attitude of authorities of Liberian football in making
early preparations for the Lone Star.
In a telephone
interview with the teenager who is currently wooing fans of IF
Elfsborg in Swedish’s Allsvenskan (reserved league), he said “we must
begin early preparation if we are to challenge the likes of Ivory
Coast, Ghana, Nigeria on the continental.
“No country achieves
without preparation especially at the early stages.
“Currently we are not
in any competition, but the Lone Star must engage in friendly matches
in an attempt to have a formidable side that could compete and book
slots in 2012 and 2014 for the Africa cup of nations and world cup
respectively.
“Lack of early
preparations and organizations have led to our downfall for many
years. “We must graduate from such if we are to make amends,” the lad
regarded as the best player for IF Elfsborg reserved side in the
Swedish Allsvenskan at the moment noted.
The former national
U-20 skipper said the country has some talented players oversea who
are ready to pull the necessary surprises to put the tiny West African
country back on the map in football.
“We can bring back the
famous days of “George Weah 11”, but it depends on early preparations
and organizations,” the skill workshop noted.
Meanwhile, Rennie has
hailed his former club, Mighty Barrolle for a job well done when the
kanyan pepper boys clinched the Liberia Football Association (LFA)
premiership title.
Rennie said ‘I
monitored the league via way of
www.liberiansoccer.com and could not believe my former club;
Mighty Barrolle would have clinch the title.
“At certain point of
the league it seemed LPRC Oilers, which I also played for while on the
local scene would have clinch the title with a wide margin, but the
Rollers kept the courage and won at the closing moment.
“I want to hail the
entire playing body, the administration, the technical staffers as
well as all supporters for a job well done
This towering prodigy
came to the fore when he styled for Gardnersvlle Third Division outfit
Manchester United before moving to Vikings in the same community.
After making in-roads,
he fell in the nest of elite side LISCR FC where he impressed.
After three seasons,
the budding star joined ranks with Liberia's most accomplished club
(as far as CAF competitions are concerned), LPRC Oilers.
He was forced to join
Mighty Barrolle after Oilers joined other clubs in refusing to
participate in the 2008 Liberia Football Association (LFA) league.
The danger kid was the
Most Valuable Player in the LFA 2007 premiership after his explosive
form with the Oile boys where he netted in 16 goals and provided ten
assists that season.
Due to his lanky
posture, bag of skills, box of tricks and precision in the box, some
say he is the Liberian Zlatan Ibrahimovic while others say he is the
local Emmanuel Olusheyi Adebayor.
