Liberia’s Alex Nimely has been named in a 21 man squad for the English Under-20 World Cup team.

The Manchester City forward was selected by Coach Brian Eastick to form part of the Young Lions World Cup campaign in Egypt.

The player joins five of his Manchester City teammates who have also being called to the U-20 National team for the challenge.

The 17th edition of the U-20 World Cup will run from September 24 to October 26 and will be played in four cities.

The cities include Cairo, Alexandria, Port Said and Ismailia.

Alex Nimely will be the first Liberian to dun the jersey of England.

Under FIFA regulations he is still eligible to play for his mother country provided he doesn’t play for the English senior National team in a FIFA recognized tournament.

Under FIFA regulation, a player is considered to be a full international if he takes to the field of play but if he sits on the bench he could switch nationality.

England's first match is in Ismailia against Uzbekistan on September 26.
