Classical contemporary football comes to the fore
today, Thursday, September 3, 2009 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS)
in Monrovia when Liberia Football Association (LFA) highest carrier of
the premiership, Mighty Barrolle battles surprise terrific performer,
Barrack Young Controller (BYC) as the top flight of the LFA league
rages on with much excitements.
Mighty Barrolle grabbed a 3-0 win over struggling
Adorence FC last Sunday in Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County, while
her inform opponent in the form of BYC collected the maximum
three points without kicking a ball after Football Club Azziz Kara (FC
AK) refused to turnout.
Barrolle will be aiming to mount pressure on LPRC
Oilers and BYC for pole position, while the young, hungry and dark
horse BYC will gear up to maintain second place and, as well, mount
pressure on league leader LPRC Oilers for top spot.
BYC currently sits at second spot with 54 points,
while the red and white outfit, Barrolle occupies 3rd place
with 49 points.
The match between the two sides has been
considered as one of the fans pulling encounters in many quarters,
with lovers of Liberian football set to see who mounts pressure on the
oil boys, LPRC Oilers as the 2009 LFA premiership draws to an end.
On the players and tactics to be used, many
believe BYC has a virtually young squad, but the problem of buoyancy
could serve as a major factor to impede their game against such heavy
weight like Mighty that has some players who have great records in
Liberian football including Captain fantastic Nuzohn Kulala, defense
hero Halee Lahai ,midfield genii Little Lewis and Julius Nahn as well
as second top goal scorer in the current campaign, Weaka Wisseh, who
is considered a goal customer for his ability to rattle the net on a
regular basis.
Though experience is good in football, many
believe that current form is better, and the young and hungry lads in
the form of BYC that has showed much consistency in the current
campaign should not be taken as pushovers in the epic clash.
Coach Abraham Sese of BYC, who is considered one
of the outstanding coaches in the top flight, will hope to pair the
likes of 12 goals hero Andrew Swarary, lethal Captain and master
dribbler Jacob Goa and clinical finisher Samuel Thompson upfront to
give the defense of Barrolle Mountains to climb in the ambitious
encounter.
Probable Line-up
Mighty Barrolle -4-4-2
Goalkeeper -Samuel Cooper
Back four
Samuel Tisdell, William Tokpah, Sam Peters and
Halee Lahai
Midfield Quartet
Juliue Nahn, alias Essien, Archie Harvey, Wilfred
Greenfield and Captain fantastic Nuzohn Kulala.
Front Two
Coach Eric Thompson, alias Christian Cole will
hope to give Sam Andrew his first start after a protracted period on
the sideline due to what the technical staffs consider an erratic
start to the campaign.
The former USA hit man and LFA premiership 2008
top goal scorer will partner the best friend of the net, Weaka Wisseh
upfront in an attempt to pull an upset in the plump clash.
Probable Line-up
BYC-4-4-2
Goalkeeper-Weston Sayuoh
Back four
Dusty, Jusu Hargreaves, Jallebah and Myers Garllo
Midfield Quartet
Queejy, Momo Sonpon, Jacob Goa and Continata
Front Two
Coach Sese will hope to use his top goal scorer
and frontrunner Andrew Swarary upfront alongside Samuel Thompson to do
the damage to Garmondeh Karnga’s, Mighty Barrolle.
It is often said that a team with hunger will do
marvel. For the fact that such team is an underachiever, an
accomplished outfit and a relatively unknown quantity, the players
want to showcase their talents, as they will then have a competitive
spirit.
On the Other hand, the illustrious opponent in
such a plum clash will aim to prove supremacy.
BYC grabs
the headlines behind Oilers in terms of consistency in the current LFA
premiership title chase, but in terms of player by player ratings as
well as experience or individual brilliance, Mighty Barrolle has the
edge in the rigid contest.
One will claim that players of the Rollers have
accomplished and achieved a lot, but BYC is keen to excel.
The kids will certainly raise their game to do
the unanticipated in fascinating fans of Liberian football and to
clinch the minimum three points.
Whatever the case may be, whether experience or
current form ATS is the final judge at 4: PM.
Meanwhile, Invincible
Eleven (IE) and struggling Jubilee FC settled to a 1-1 draw at the ATS
on Wednesday, September 2, 2009.
