As the national soccer team the Lone Star
leaves for Congo Brazzaville tomorrow to honor her international
assignment in the joint qualifier - the nation cup and the world cup
- there are signs that four Liberia professional Players may not
show up for the match in Brazzaville.
A highly placed source informed The Analyst
Sports Desk yesterday that Liberia's Celebrated Star James Debbah is
expected to leave for the United States on his private visit.
Sources close to Debbah say he may not be in
Brazzaville with the Lone Star. Like Debbah, Prince Daye may not be
in Congo for the match. Prince is reportedly nursing his injury from
the last match with Mali.
Two other Liberian professionals, Frank Seator and
Fallah Johnson have serous club assignments and may not be on hand
for the away match.
When contacted, the Technical Director of Lone
Star, Coach Kardala Kromah confirmed that Prince Daye, Fallah
Johnson and striker Frank Seaton will not be on hand due to club
engagements, except for James Debbah, whom he is yet to get any
information about.
The Lone Star Technical Director said he is going
to Congo with the same team, though he said that with the present
development as it relate to the absence of some of the players, he
was finding it difficult to make any final decision.
He however disclosed that Jimmy Dixon, Dioh Williams
and Alvin Kieh will be coming for the match in Congo.
He said professional players Anthony Lanford, Ben
Tiklon, Sunday Siah and Eziah Benson have not left.
Meanwhile the National Soccer Team began training yesterday
at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
Liberia is second in her group with 3 points, 1goal
behind Senegal with 3 points, 2 goals, while Mali and Congo are at
the bottom of the table with no points.
