`I Am
Not in I.E for Political Fame'
February 9, 2005
A member of the Invincible Eleven Board and President of the Promoters
of Liberian Athletic (PROLA) have come sharply against recent
pronouncement by players of I.E in the media, that officials of the
club are using the club to gain political fame.
In an interview with our Sports Desk over the weekend, Mr. Joseph
Farkollie said he was not using the club to gain political fame as
claimed by the players.
He said such pronouncement by the Yellow Boys players was frustrating
and discouraging and has the propensity of undermining their work over
the years.
The Invincible Eleven Board member further said that while it is true
that players should speak on issues of concern, such concern should be
based on facts.
"Though I have an ambition to contest for the senatorial position of
Lofa County in the ensuring National Elections, this should not be
misconstrued that I am using the Club to gain political fame", Mr.
Farkollie said.
Mr. Farkollie has been with the club for quite a protracted period,
and has also been engaged in promoting Liberian Athletes. This is a
clear evidence of his formation of PROLA, which has played a pivotal
role in the promotion of Liberian Athletes world wide.
